Aparator is a private family hub. We take your family's privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how it's protected. We will never sell your data to third parties.
Your name, email address, and profile photo when you create an account.
Text messages, photos, and documents shared in family chats. These are stored to deliver them to your family members and for AI summaries.
Your approximate location when you choose to share it with your family. Location sharing is always opt-in and can be disabled at any time in the Security tab.
Events, reminders, and plans you create within the app.
Photos you upload to the family Moments feed. These are stored in a private bucket accessible only to your family.
Files you upload to the family Doc Hub. Stored securely and only accessible to your family.
When you use Aparator's family money features, we store the shared expenses, money requests, and bills you create — including amounts, descriptions, reasons, due dates, categories, and which family member is involved. When you mark something as settled, we record the method you chose (such as "Venmo" or "Cash") as a label only. We do not collect or store payment credentials, card numbers, or bank account details, and Aparator does not move, hold, or transfer money — any actual payments happen outside the app, in the payment app you choose.
Aggregate usage metrics (feature counts, not content) to help us improve the app. No personal content is used in analytics.
Your data is retained as long as your account is active.
AI-generated content (briefings, rewind cards) expires automatically within 7–30 days and is regenerated fresh.
Family money records are shared within your family. If you leave a family that continues without you, records that other members are part of — such as a shared expense they still owe on — are retained for those members, with your personal identifying link removed.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Here is exactly what happens.
Removed permanently. Your profile, your location history, your conversations with Myla and everything she remembered about you, your notification history, your preferences, and your profile photo and background image.
Kept by your family. Aparator is a shared space, and some of what you add belongs to your family as much as to you. Documents you added to your family's hub — insurance cards, school forms, travel documents — stay with your family, because removing them could leave the people you share with without records they depend on. Messages, events, lists and entries you created also remain in your family's shared history, with your name removed so they are no longer linked to you.
If you are the last member. When you delete the only remaining account in a family, that family is deleted entirely — every document, photo, event and record in it is permanently removed, including the files themselves. If you belong to more than one family, this is decided separately for each one.
If you would rather your documents were removed too, delete them from your family's document hub before deleting your account.
Deletion cannot be undone.
All data is stored on Supabase infrastructure with row-level security (RLS) enforced at the database level — only family members can access family data.
All connections are encrypted in transit (TLS). Files are stored in private buckets with signed URLs.
Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth with industry-standard security practices.
We use the following services to operate Aparator:
You have the right to:
Aparator is designed to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law (5741-1981).
The legal basis for processing your data is your consent (provided when you create an account) and the legitimate interest of providing the family hub service.
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under GDPR including data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.
Aparator is a family app intended for use by families including children. Children's accounts must be created and managed by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without parental consent. Within the family money features, a child's view is limited to their own requests and the shared costs they are part of; a parent or guardian controls approvals and oversight.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will notify you of significant changes via the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
